Pic Island - Lawren Harris

This was my final project for my Grade 9 art class last year

The task was to select a painting done by the Group of Seven and recreate it with acrylic paints.

Overall, I think I did a pretty good job of recreating it ...but obviously its not as good as the one done by Lawren Harris of the Group of Seven. It has some flaws, especially the sky. The highlighting in the clouds isn't as accurate as it should be, the light which is coming from the sun (yellow part) doesn't blend with the rest of the sky (green part) as well it should have.

This is my first upload of a painting on dA ...but there will be more to come!

This was also my first time doing an acrylic painting (although I did do a painting earlier on that year ...it was with watercolours).

After this project, I must say that I love working with paints! Especially with acrylics ...they are now my favourite medium!
